The first place in the ranking is taken by Stephen Schwarzman, CEO of Blackstone, which obtained USD 253 million in the last year.
In the business world, there are CEOs who earn huge salaries for running successful corporations. And, as difficult as it may seem, not all of the top positions that have improved their income in the last year are related to technology companies. By contrast, CEOs of companies like Pinterest , Peloton, and Hertz outperformed Apple CEO Tim Cook .
The Wall Street Journal has revealed the list of America’s highest-paid CEOs, a company that tracks CEO compensation at nearly 4,000 publicly traded US companies . To establish this ranking, salaries, bonuses, benefits and shares were taken into account, among other factors.
Top of the list goes to Stephen Schwarzman, CEO of Blackstone, with $253 million , followed by Sundar Pichai of Alphabet , the parent company of Google, who received $226 million and in third place Stephen Scherr of Hertz with $182 millions.
According to data published by the US media, the average salary of the leaders of these companies listed on the US stock market decreased to USD 14.5 million last year, compared to USD 14.7 million in 2021.
Stephen Schwarzman, one of Blackstone’s co-founders, received approximately $190 million of his salary in the form of accrued interest allocations, that is, the portion of earnings that exceeds a target and is received by some investment managers, according to The Wall Street. Journal.
In addition, he received another USD 58.8 million in shares of real estate investment funds managed by Blackstone itself .
Analysis by C-Suite Comp found that nine CEOs earned more than $100 million in 2022. This number represents a decrease from the 20+ CEOs the previous year.
