The video of the American singer-songwriter, Britney Spears, receiving a slap from Victor Wembanyama’s bodyguard has gone viral this Sunday on social media.

The Fox Corporation-owned news organization TMZ obtained the footage, which shows the 41-year-old Britney Spears approaching the NBA player from behind.

“Excuse me, sir,” Spears says moments before Damian Smith , who is part of the San Antonio Spurs player’s security staff, punches her in the face. Even, she can hear people being in shock when they see the aggression. After this, Britney goes back to her place and tries to calm down. However, a source close to her said she was ” extremely shaken ” by the altercation.

Britney Spears “wasn’t ready” to take the slap

Hours after the incident, the singer used her social networks to confirm the fact and affirm that these traumatic experiences “are not new” for her, but that “she was not prepared”. Britney Spears added that she only wanted to take a photo with the basketball player and did not “grab” him, as the press claims.

“His security then turned his back on me without looking back, in front of a crowd,” the “Oops! … I did it again,” he stated. “It almost knocked me over and made my glasses fall off my face.”

There are no official charges against Damian Smith

After the assault, the artist filed the report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, but the same authorities said that Britney Spears will not file criminal charges against Smith.

Page Six reported, via the police report, that Britney did not file the charges “due to the fact that [Smith] did not knowingly or unlawfully use any force or violence against Britney and there was no probable cause, no arrest was made.”
